Wedding Photography – Jamie & Omar
It was a hot Saturday in June when Jamie & Omar, their families and friends gathered at Hickory Lakes in Pickerington, Ohio to “repeat after me” and “for as long as they both shall live.” The chairs were set up facing one of the many lakes while a patch of sand had been delivered and laid out at the altar . The simple, effective decorations of wood pallets with quotes from 1 Corinthians anchored the rows of white folding chairs. It was a beautiful wedding photography backdrop!
The bridal party included 6 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen and what a diverse group of women and men it was! Along with the large bridal party, there were so many young children in attendance at this wedding it was difficult to keep track of them! It was apparent from watching Jamie & Omar interact with their guests that these two newlyweds are favorites with children.
Jamie & Omar each wrote their own vows which included some laughter and some tears from everyone in attendance. The ceremony also included a “blending of the sands” ritual (in lieu of a unity candle lighting); the pouring of two different colored sands together symbolizing the joining of the bride and groom and joining their families. It was a beautiful way to bring the ceremony to a close. Thank you, Jamie & Omar for asking me to photograph your wedding. I wish you years of happiness ahead!
